HI. I’m Lynn Penrose, R.D. and I want to welcome you to Funky About Food.

If you’re tired, frustrated and strung out by funky eating habits, you’ll find the resources and support you need right here.

Funky About food can help you if:

  • You feel guilty after eating something “bad”
  • You sometimes eat until you are uncomfortable and can’t seem to stop eating
  • You have intense food cravings, and obsess about it until you eat it
  • You are embarrassed to eat in front of others
  • If you eat too much, you purge afterwards
  • You don’t allow certain food groups, the best tasting ones, usually
  • You wake up obsessing about what you are going to eat, or not eat
  • You would accept dinner invitation, but won’t eat all day beforehand
  • At a restaurant, you place your order after you hear what everybody else is having
  • You body check in the mirror, every mirror, every reflection…

Funky About Food is NOT a diet. It isn’t about strict rules, or a ridiculous regime. You won’t be counting calories, or missing out any types of food. In fact, it won’t resemble any of the diets we’re used to seeing that need “will power” and “self-discipline.” And there’s a good reason for that:

Diets don’t work.

The social culture that promotes distorted body image and outrageous reliance upon jean size as a measure of self worth has lead us nowhere except low self esteem, guilt after eating and a lower quality of life.

When you join Funky About Food you’ll be using Nutrition Therapy to help you beat the controlling beliefs that have been ingrained into you. And we do it together in a way that doesn’t make you want to throw in the towel or tear your hair out.

You see, I’m not just a registered dietitian, I’m a survivor of my own food funkiness.

I know that you can live a life free from weighing, measuring and thinking “I’ll do better tomorrow.” It might not seem like it now, but you can reach that day where you can eat out with friends and not worry about the menu.

I know this because after beating my own fight with food, I spent 20 years helping people overcome their own food fights and those years of personal and professional experience is what has enabled me to produce something different to the other “food fixes” out there.

I also know that one size doesn’t fit all, which is why when you join Funky About Food, we’ll first figure out what approach will help you the best, and this will probably fall into one of three categories:

  • Food Fixation – eliminating certain foods or food groups
  • Food Emotion Commotion – eating food when you are bored, frustrated, lonely, upset etc
  • Head and Body Disconnect – when you find it difficult to see when you are hungry and when you are full

Funky about Food won’t overwhelm you, you’ll be able to zero in on the most important habits to change so that you don’t feel paralysed about changing everything overnight like a lot of “diets” expect you to do. This doesn’t just make it more enjoyable, it makes it more likely that you will succeed.

So, the next important step is to sign up for free weekly newsletter, head over to the survey and get started today!
